Seagull Coastline Parlor Grand Natural 1997
Seagull Grand Parlour, natural satin, made in Canada 1997. Seagull is a funny name for a guitar brand, but they do good work. They're part of the Godin group, based out of Quebec in Canada, and they've been building tasty guitars using local tonewoods to a very good standard for many decades. Their parlour shape is extra skinny compared to some others, so it's got a cute slightly stretched look to it. It sits very comfortably in the hands, being lightweight with an intuitive rounded neck. The cedar and cherry combo is a signature move for Seagull but unusual for other makers, but it makes for a great sound: warm and balanced, chirpy top end, great punch and breath through the mids and an understated, musical bass. It looks cute too, I love the tort they've used for the guard and the fetching red sides. Includes a nice fitted case.
