Spector Legend 4, black, made in Korea 2011. Spector basses blew up in the 1990s and have remained popular amongst enthusiasts ever sine. This example has some trademark Spector appointments: carved quilt maple top, convex back for comfort, active electronics, high mass bridge, three piece super stable neck... sensible stuff that adds up to a very practical bass. The tone on offer is modern and clear, with plenty of scope to shape it to fit your context and a pleasing natural thump. The trans black finish pairs well with the black hardware, it's classy and slick without being too over the top. The neck is similar to a Jazz Bass at the nut end, but tapers a little more up the top for accuracy and speed. This is a super handy and practical bass, it'll work hard and deliver the goods and leave you plenty of change for bahn mi.
