Squier MIJ Silver Series Jazz Bass SJB36 Black 1992
Squier Silver Series Jazz Bass, made in Japan 1993-4, sunburst. The Silver Series marked a 90s era return to Japan's legendary Fujigen factory for Squier after several years of manufacture in Korea, and at the time, they were heralded as a revelation in quality. The build quality is excellent, everything feels tight, tidy and in it's proper place. The body is light and resonant, and the satin finish neck is really comfortable and responsive; it feels very lively in the hands. This punches with conviction plugged in: thick, juicy lows and heaps of slap and definition on the top end; it sounds like a far pricier bass than it is. The black finish sits nicely against the cream guard and streaky red-brown rosewood board; it's a classy look and has just enough wear around the edges to feel and look like like a player's bass. These never last long when they land here, so nab yourself a hidden gem and thank me later!
