Squier Vista Series Musicmaster bass, made 1997 in Taiwan, gloss black. These were made for one year only; they're a reissue of Fender's Musicmaster bass that was made 1971-81. It's basically a stripped down version of the also-short-scale Mustang bass. The body is light, the neck is slim, the short scale lends it a slinky feel... it's an absolute breeze to play! It's got a cool thick, thumpy tone that's intriguingly charismatic and effective. A previous owner did something strange: they removed the headstock veneer with the black finish and Squier logo from the headstock and refinished the wood in natural. It's a curious thing to do; I like to think it was an act of anticapitalism; it's more punk not to have logos, right? This is a really fun little addition, it's sure to win your heart!

The now-blank space has been refinished and smoothed over, so it feels clean and tidy despite looking odd. Neck is pretty clean with minor dimples only. The back has a handful of light scuffs and dimples, nithing really major. The sides are pretty clean, just some scuffs and small dents on the shoulder area and around from the knobs. The front has some minor marks in the shoulder area and some normal play scratches; it's pretty clean. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have been played, but wear is minor, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 45/105s.
