(SOLD) Sterling by Musicman Ray35 Black 2011
Sterling by Musicman Ray35, black, made in Indo 2011. These are a great take on the classic StingRay shape, built with a lot of TLC and very affordable. This is a different and significantly nicer model than the SUB series, although the two are easily confused at first glance. The StingRay essentials are all there: ash body, big heavy bridge, alnico humbucking pickup, 4+1 headstock... it's a familiar look and feel. The tone has that signature Musicman midrange presence and growl, it's instantly identifiable and very satisfying. The low B works nicely too; not every 5-string feels and sounds tight and punchy but this pulls it off well. Plus, it's in almost-new condition, and, plus plus, it's very black indeed... perfect to match your black sense of humour.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a mark on the end of the headstock, and a couple of little nicks on the back of the headstock. The neck is pretty clean. The back has some very light scratches, the worst of them are up the top near the body carve, but they're very mild. There's a couple of dimples near the input jack. The front is pretty clean, just some plsy scratches on the guard and top horn and the occasional dimple. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets are in brilliant shape, 9/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 45/130 strings.
