Tokai Goldstar Sound AST70 Sunburst 2014
Tokai Goldstar Sound AST70, sunburst, made in Japan 2014. Tokai have a long and storied history building exceptional F-style guitars. This is a recent example, and dang folks: they still have it. The woodwork is impeccable: two piece centre joined alder, super tightly grained maple neck... perfect. The neck feels excellent in the hands; it's relatively slim and quick and super sturdy. The tone is very convincing: fat and glassy on the neck, heaps of snarl and bark in the middle, warm and slicing on the bridge. This is amazing value, it will surely fill the Strat-shaped gap in your life just right.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the back only. The back has minor scuffs on the back edge and near the neck join. The sides have minor dimples near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front has minor dimples on the back edge and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
