Tokai Goldstar Sound TST50, white, made in Japan around 1983. Tokai were giving Fender and Gibson a good scare in the early 80s, they were making instruments to an eye-watering standard and starting to make some headway in USA and Europe. This one is based off a 1964 Strat, so you get a slim round maple neck with a radius laminate rosewood board paired with an alder body. It feels lively and responsive in the hands and the neck is super comfy. The tone is a bright and slightly scooped take on the classic Strat-spank. It's tuneful and immediate with a cheeky snap in the attack. The white finish has faded to an eggnog-ish hue, it's looking great. Gold star for you!
