- Guitarchives
Fender Stratocaster, '57 reissue in aged candy apple red, crafted in Japan. This one is just back from the luthier and has a full set of shiny stainless steel frets; that means they're 100% pristine now and will basically never wear out for the next couple of decades. As such, it's playing perfectly; balanced, light, bright and smooth. The '57 style Strats like this have a moderately chunky neck and a maple board, so that injects a bit of brightness and body into the tone. The finish has a few dings etc, but it's faded to a stunning deep red hue and really does look the business. Played-in and ready to roll.

Cosmetic condition notes: moderate finish wear. There's a few dings around the sides and back of the body as pictured, nothing too dramatic. The candy apple finish has faded to a slightly darker hue, it's looking tasty. The guard has some wear, back plate is missing, chrome parts have dulled. The board has waged beautifully to a sweet golden hue. Overall: fair to good (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is very low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets, as noted, are brand new stainless steel, so they're perfect (10/10). Strat-goodness.
