Fender Strat, '72 reissue in beautiful natural ash made in Japan 1989, with upgrades. This is outrageously good. This guitar was sold to a Topshelf VIP who did some excellent work on it, and then ended up trading it back to us in another deal. The base ingredients are great: Fujigen made, slim maple-board neck with the cool '70s headstock, lightweight sen ash body with some stunning grain, played in and feeling fantastic. Add a few things to give it some special sauce: a Fender USA cold-rolled steel bridge (adds bottom end, tuning stability), Spergel locking tuners and a full electronics upgrade (CTS pots, orange drop cap, USA switch, switchcraft jack). It's had a fret crown and polish as well as a comprehensive visual touch up, a few chips that were there the first time around are gone without a trace. The best addition: a set Lollar Strat Blonde pickups. These are just perfect: smooth, bright, touch-sensitive, warm and full of body and harmonics. The results are spectacular... this sounds incredible, plays like butter and is super gorgeous. Please take it away before I decide to keep it forever.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a handful of minor dings on the back, a couple near the rear strap-pin and on the end of the headstock; none of them are deep or more than 2mm across. Guard has a few scratches from play but is in good shape. Most of the chrome parts are basically new, they're all looking good. You'd hardly believe the guitar is 28 years old. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is very low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have a little wear, but have just been crowned and polished, there's heaps of life in them (8/10). Brilliant Strat in every way!
