(SOLD) Used Fender Stratocaster '72 Reissue Natural Ash 1989
Fender Strat, '72 reissue in beautiful natural ash, made in Japan 1989. What a honey! This is a stunning instrument, the natural finish has aged to a beautiful golden brown and really shows off the grain of the sen ash body. She's got a few dings and scratches, which combined with the aged plastics and chrome give the guitar an authentic natural-relic look. The original pickups and lightweight ash body offer a balanced, thick tone with plenty of natural bass and attack; this is one of the best sounding Strats we've come across recently. The neck has seen plenty of tunes over the decades, it feels nicely worn-in and is very comfortable in the hand, as well as featuring some beautiful grain. This a great example of 80s Fender Japan's famous quality and mojo. This is the kind of Strat that you won't want to put down, except perhaps to marvel at it's roughed-up good looks!

Cosmetic condition notes: Moderate finish wear. There's some chips in the lacquer on the neck/board, none of which are especially noticeable when playing. There's a coupe of significant chips on the body too, one on the top horn, one where the arm rests and another behind the bridge. The back plate is cracked on one corner where a screw was overtightened. Chrome parts have aged nicely and plastics had yellowed. There's a fair bit of play wear on the guard, and a number of little dimples and scratches all over. Nothing too nasty, but it has the 'authentic relic' look for sure! Overall condition: fair.
Playing condition notes: Action is very low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets are looking pretty good but have some wear, plenty of life left. The neck feels great, its got a great 'played in' feel and really loves a good solo. The tone just keeps coming, this one plays brilliantly!
