(ARCHIVE) Used Greg Bennett Royale Series RL-2 Semi-Hollow Guitar
- Description
- Guitarchives
Greg Bennett RL-2 semi-hollow electric. This is a 335-ish design with a twist; the centre block and sides are made from one piece of wood, then the mahogany top, back and neck are attached to that. The guitar offers more attack and sustain than you'd typically see from this shape, it sits somewhere between a a normal 335-type guitar and a solid body LP type. It's got a nice medium-slim neck and feels well-balanced in the hands, it's a handy player. The stock hardware is pretty good, the Gotoh tuners are very stable and the stop tail piece and bridge are sturdy. Tonally, it's got a nice mix of bright and dark, it's smooth with a nice little edge of brightness and cut. That trans-red finish looks good too! This one suffered a headstock break in an unfortunate transit damage incident. It's been expertly repaired to a very high standard by Jon at JP-GW, so it's playing just fine and will do so for many years to come. The new street price on these is around $700, so grab a bargain!
