Hagstrom Select Super Swede, 2010. These are a unique and cool twist on the classic LP shape that originally came out of Sweden in the the 70s. The neck is designed for speed: 15" radius, slim profile, ebony-esque signature 'Resonant' composite board. The pickups have been switched to a pair of Orpheus Alnico 2s, hand wound PAF-style humbuckers by Australian specialist David Paul. They're very good: full, thick, warm, rich and articulate. The Swede models have a round attack and great sustain, this one really sings truly. The 'Select' in the title denotes some tasty wood; the quilt maple top is super sweet. In short, gorgeous, quick-playing LP style with plenty of brightness and attitude.
