Slingerland Gene Krupa Signature Sound King chrome over brass snare drum, 70s vintage. You don't see a whole heap of vintage Slingerland snares around these parts, which is a shame, because they're nice! This is a very high quality COB snare: it sounds warm and bright without being harsh, it's very responsive and musical and has a perfect 'snap' to it. The chrome has held up very well over the years, it's in good shape. The throw-off is sturdy and works perfectly. The stick-saver rounded hoops are solid enough to hold tune well but still let the shell sing. This is a truly versatile vintage snare that'll hold up for another 40 years easily!
