Yamaha SA700 Super Axe, transparent red, made in Japan 1979. The Super Axe is Yamaha's copy of the classic Gibson 335, and they're very good indeed. The build quality is incredible; everything is exactly where it should be, the attention to detail is remarkable. This one is in remarkable condition, there's a handful of dings but really nothing major to show for it's 40ish years. The grain on the plain maple body is really on full display, it's seriously stunning. The PAF-style humbuckers produce a sweet, creamy warm tone with heaps of natural sustain; it's instantly at home across a huge variety of genres. The best thing about this is the feel: it's magic in the hands. Hard to put down!
