Yamaha SB600 Super Bass, natural nato finish, made in Japan in 1977. A little bit P, a little J, a little offset... a mammoth tone! The first thing you'll notice is the beautiful grain of the nato body. The finish isn't a stain, nato is a reddish-brown wood with similar tonal characteristics to spruce. The neck is a wide P-style shape and is a really beautiful bit of maple; it really does feel great! The die cast bridge features a cool little graphic detail and lends the bass significantly enhanced sustain and sonic thump. This bass sounds awesome; growly, warm, responsive and thick. The body shape is a little curious, but very comfortable. This is a beautiful example of vintage Japanese craftsmanship.

Cosmetic condition notes: Some finish wear, including a handful of minor dents and scratches. There's some rash near the bridge pickup, along with plenty of scratches on the guard. The maple board has aged beautifully; it's an amazing bit of maple with a few birds-eye sections. The chrome has aged a bit too. Overall: good condition.

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. Frets have plenty of life in them. Very reassuring in the hands with great natural sustain. Big, fat, punchy sound; very satisfying! All electrics tested and working properly. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
