Yamaha Studio Lord SL500S in luxurious brown sunburst. This guitar really has that 'special something'. The build quality on these models really is amazing, they're meticulously made and feel fantastic. The back and outside of the burst is a dark mocha brown, which has aged beautifully as the lacquer seeps into the grain. The burst finish really shows off the grain of the plain mahogany top; it's really something to behold. This is an absolute killer LP!

Manufacturer: Yamaha

Year: 1979 (best estimate)

Cosmetic condition notes: A few marks on the front and back. Significant aging on the cream pickups, surrounds and guard. Inlays have faded to a grey colour. A little aging on the chrome, although it's pretty good. There's a minor crack in one of the pickup surrounds, which doesn't affect the stability of the pickup. The finish has aged to really show the grain, it's got a beautiful vintage look. Overall: good condition.

Playing condition notes: Very good indeed. Frets are in good shape with plenty of life, action is low, intonation is good, feels very well balanced. Feels very reassuring, the quality of these is amazing. Setup with fresh Ernie Ball Slinky 11/49s.
