Yamaha Studio Lord SL600S, made in Japan in 1977. This is so clean, it could just about pass for brand new. The condition for a 40 year old guitar is astounding, we've never seen anything this old in this kind of nick! These SL models were made in the renowned Matsumoku factory in the late 70s, and they're very well regarded owing to their fantastic build quality, effortless playability and monster tone. This 600S model is pretty rare, the lower spec 400 and 500 models are a little easier to come by. You get a mahogany body with a stunning plain maple top, the grain is on full show through the sweet cherry sunburst finish. The neck is slim and very sturdy, it's a fast and effortless player that's extremely comfortable. Tone-wise, it's all there: thick, warm body, defined bit and cut, articulate and dynamic. We love Studio Lords because they're some of the best vintage LPs going around, they'll seriously challenge guitars that fetch ten times the price. Join those 'in the know' and add this little overachiever to the family!
