Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors The Amos Ge Fuzz Pedal
The Amos is VDAAD's take on the cult favourite Zonk Machine fuzz, made in the UK in the late 1960s by John Hornby Skewes. It's got a gate control, effectively a bias knob, that let's you dial from a wide-open, overdrive style sound all the way to a glitchy, sputtery madness. The design is a mix between the Zonk I and II, with two different transistors offering a best-of-both sound. With the gate turned off, it cleans up beautifully with the volume rolled back; it's got a bluesy smoothness that's very satisfying. This is a whole lot of fun, and a super classy take on an unusual circuit. Top marks Richard!

Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors is the project of local tonehound Richard Turner, based out a small studio in Dodges Ferry, near Hobart, Australia. Richard uses NOS and recycled specialist components to create deluxe fuzz, boost and treble boost pedals. Each pedal is point-to-point hand wired on hand-cut phenolic boards, using transistors from 1950-70s and capacitors and resistors from 1960-99. The enclosures are hand-finished, and sent in plastic-free packaging.
