Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors The Dasy Si Fuzz Pedal
This is the silicon version of The Dasy, which is based on the classic Dallas Arbitor Fuzz Face. It's driven by a pair of Australian-made 1970s OEM BC108 silicon transistors. The tone balances warmth and cut very convincingly, with a smoother and more creamier take on the FF sound than it's germanium cousin. It cleans up beautifully and is super responsive. Get yourself a proper piece of handmade fuzz goodness by one of the best builders out there.
Transistors: 2x 1970s OEM BC108 silicon, unlabeled, likely by Phillips
Other components: NOS Philips and Mullard Mustard capacitors. Resistors are by Philips, Piher and Allen Bradley. Neutrik Jacks, Alpha 24mm Pots. Enclousre by Hammond, finished in Heavy Aged Sea Blue Hammertone.
Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors is the project of local tonehound Richard Turner, based out a small studio in Dodges Ferry, near Hobart, Australia. Richard uses NOS and recycled specialist components to create deluxe fuzz, boost and treble boost pedals. Each pedal is point-to-point hand wired on hand-cut phenolic boards, using transistors from 1950-70s and capacitors and resistors from 1960-99. The enclosures are hand-finished, and sent in plastic-free packaging.
