(ARCHIVE) Warwick Rockbass Fortress 4 Honey Violin 2008
- Description
- Guitarchives
Warwick Rockbass Fortress, made in China 2008, honey violin. The Fortress model followed the more famous Corvette, it was the second bolt-on model Warwick ever produced. The body features a distinctive long upper horn, designed to offer perfect weight balance during play. This is an earlier example of the Rockbass series model. iI's a really well executed bass, both in terms of design and build quality. There's some signature Warwick stuff: angled lightweight tuners, adjustable nut, high mass bridge, powerful 2-band EQ. The best thing about it is the wood: the two piece, centre joined, lightweight, tightly grained ash body is a thing of beauty. Plugged in, this is a big chungus. The P pickup is thick, rounded and juicy, while the J pickup is snarly, snappy and growly. You can dial in more than enough extra heft or extra pang via the EQ, it works a treat. These fetch around twice this cash brand new in Aus, so grab yourself a bargain. Side note: who puts honey on a violin?
