Yamaha FG-170 Folk Size Acoustic 1974
Yamaha FG-170, natural gloss, made in Japan 1974. The FG series, or Folk Guitar, kicked off in the 1960s and is still made to this day. This is a cool 70s made example from the Nippon Gakki factory in Japan, and it's a charming little thing. The body is similar in size to a Martin 000 or a Maton 808, so it's nice and comfy to sit on the couch with. The tone is dry and balanced through the mids and highs, with a surprisingly full and generous low end and plenty of natural volume. Our friendly tech Mark has installed a new bone nut and saddle, so it's playing smooth and holding tune nicely. FG= feels good.
