(SOLD) Yamaha FG-301 Dreadnought Acoustic 1977
Yamaha FG-301, made in Japan 1977, natural gloss. Yamaha's FG series launched in the 1960s and has been made in one form or another continuously to this day. This beauty was made around 1977 in Japan, going on the label style, logos and and serial format. It's a tasty vintage dreadnought with a big juicy tone. There's plenty of snappy top end and a pleasing natural brightness typical of Yamaha FG stuff, it's articulate and warm. The neck is a comfy soft V shape and the fret and finish work are very tidy, so it feels good in the hands. The little details like 7-ply binding, a bound fretboard and the embossed tuners lend the look some class, it's a dignified old soul. Lots to like here... FG = fery good.
