Yamaha Studio Lord SL600S Red Sunburst 1979
Yamaha SL600S Studio Lord, red sunburst, made in Japan 1979. These are exceptional guitars, we're huge fans around here. The Studio Lord was Yamaha's take on the classic Les Paul; they were made from 1976-82 approx. This is made by hand to an incredibly high standard; the love and care that went into selecting the wood and every aspect of the build is amazing. That adds up beautifully in the hands: this plays like the creamiest of custards and rings like a bell. The PAF-style pickups deliver a great balance of bright, open clarity and thick, singing midrange; they're equally happy cleaned up or cranked up. The finish has held up remarkably well over four decades; it's cleaner than many guitars one tenth it's age. As a super cool bonus, this ships with an original Yamaha branded case with all the original tags and documents... awesome.
