(SOLD) Fender Japan '70 Precision Bass PB70-85 Vintage White 1993
Fender '70 Precision, vintage white, made in Japan 1993-4. This has so much swagger. The 1970 version of the P bass got big, black, bold CBS era logos, a slightly slimmer and a 40mm nut with a comfy C neck, paired with an otherwise pretty vintage setup. We've had plenty PB70 models through the shop, but this one is ann early 90s example, so it gets the cool ash body for some extra presence on the top end and a bit of extra yellowing and play wear on the finish for good measure. The vintage white has faded significantly, so it's now wearing a buttery yellow colour with plenty of scrapes and marks around the place to show for a three decades of playing tunes. It sounds great: round, warm and punchy with a fat fundamental note and plenty of midrange presence. There's plenty to like here, it's a very enjoyable thing indeed. P for Pawesome.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and both edges. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, there's a couple of minor dents on the back behind the 5th and 12th frets and some minor rub wear but nothing too nasty. The back has dimples on the bottom horn, near the neck plate and elbow area, as well as scuffs around the bottom corner, back edge and middle of the body, The sides have dimples on both horns and some dents and scuffs near the jack, along the back edge and in the elbow area. The front has some checking lines near the bridge, dimples in the elbow area and near the pickup and plenty of play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 D'Addario strings.
Fret life: 7/10, minor wear only
