(SOLD) Fender Japan '70 Reissue Precision Bass PB70-70US Olympic White 1997-00
Fender P, '70 Reissue, aged olympic white finish, crafted in Japan 97-00. These CBS-era throwback P models are a Topshelf favourite; they have the big black bold logos and cool black pickguard... it's a very cool aesthetic. Aside from looking, this packs a whole lot of sonic punch. The Fender USA pickup is a little more defined and responsive than the standard Japan offering; combined with the balanced tone and harmonically rich midrange on offer via the alder body and dark chocolate rosewood board you get a tone that instantly feels 'so right'. The comfy modern shape neck and fairly light body mean it's a comfortable player that'll happily cover all sorts of gigs. If you're after a classic reverse-tuxedo P with a few miles on the clock for added mojo, this will surely keep the magic flowing.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a few little marks on the end and bottom edge of the headstock, neck is fairly clean. The back of the body has some widespread but shallow and inconsequential buckle rash, as well as a couple of little dents and scratches. The front has some normal light play scratches, a well as a minor chip next to the neck pocket. There's some minor scratches on the edges, most notably in the shoulder carve and around from the knobs. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look great, they're in such good shape they may well have been fairly recently replaced; 9/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s. Very good!
