(SOLD) Fender Japan '71 Telecaster TL71-58 Rebel Yellow 2004
Fender '71 Telecaster, rebel yellow, crafted in Japan 2004-5. Well, that's a bright finish! Rebel yellow was briefly a catalog finish on a couple of Strat models in the late 80s, and every now and then it pops up as a very limited run on later models. Paired with a maple board, bold CBS-era decals, angular F-key tuners and the classic Tele shape, this is surely a superb stage guitar with spades of splendid, sunny swagger. Some ash body Teles weigh a tonne, but this is nice and light at 7.4lbs; it's very resonant and lively in the hands. The neck is a slim, round comfy profile and features some pretty grain in the maple. The ash and maple combine for a bright, defined and crisp take on the classic Tele twang... perfect with a bit of light drive for slicing through the mix. This is the first Tele we've ever had in this finish, so they don't come around everyday! Nab yourself a bright little egg-ocaster.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has no major marks. The neck has some minor dimples on the back, no major marks. The back has a couple of very light scuffs near the string ferrules, no major marks. The sides have a couple of little chips on the bottom horn, near the jack and on the shoulder, as well as a couple of dimples on the top horn. The front is pretty clean, just some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets are in great shape, 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s Moonshiners strings.
